Images - add individual pictures to a page

With page Edit On click the Picture button. You will then be presented with a number of options:

  • Title - give your picture a brief but descriptive title
  • Picture - use this to upload your image
  • Description - if you wish to add a caption to your image, type it here
  • Show description - sets whether your description text is displayed on the page
  • Style
    • Size - Small, Medium and Large sizes are pre-set by the styling of your site. It's always advisable to choose one of these (usually Medium) unless you have a specific reason you wish to display the image at its Original size. Bear in mind that images will be scaled up/down depending on the device used to view your page (smartphone, tablet, desktop etc.)
    • Alignment
      • Default/Align Left - puts the image on the left of the page and does not allow other content to flow around it
      • Align Centre - puts the image in the centre of the page and does not allow other content to flow around it
      • Align Right - puts the image on the right of the page and does not allow other content to flow around it
      • Float Left - puts the image on the left of the page and allows other content to flow around it to the right
      • Float Right - puts the image on the right of the page and allows other content to flow around it to the left (generally the best option to use)
      • Clear Left - adds image to the left of the page and does not allow any floated content to the left of itself
      • Clear Right - adds image to the left of the page and does not allow any floated content to the right of itself
      • Clear Both - adds image to the left of the page and does not allow any floated content around itself on either side
  • Link
    • Link to page - use the page picker to link your image to a page on your own site
    • or External Website - type the full url of an external site you wish your image to link to
    • or Original Image - if you have added your image as one of the pre-set sizes you can use this option to let people see the original-sized image when they click
  • Additional options
    • Alternative text - good accessibility practice to add, this should be a brief description of the image (ideally different from/more descriptive than the title). It is used by screen-readers and will also be displayed if for some reason your image fails to load
    • Parent page position - the place on the page where your image will be added

Click Save to add your image.
